- Scholarship and housing deadlines vary for all colleges; it is your responsibility to check the colleges of your choice and meet their deadlines to be considered. The time is NOW!
- Students from American's top high school and their parents are invited to preview Go See Campus, a completely free resource for planning campus visits and making the most of the college search.
- Prepare today for college expenses by visiting College Savings Mississippi.
- VERY IMPORTANT! Seniors may request copies of transcripts, letters of recommendations, and GPAs from the counselors' office.
ALL forms requiring a counselor's signature need to be turned in to allow processing time. The processing time for signatures and other forms will be ONE WEEK.
For letters of recommendation, please bring a copy of your RESUME and allow TWO WEEKS processing time. Dur to the large number of seniors, it is VERY important
to allow plenty of time near deadlines especially before Christmas holidays!
- EXCELLENT FREE PARENT RESOURCE! www.collegeparents.org offers information & guidance on everything from summer programs to financial aid to career planning!

ACT TESTING - Nearly every college/university and community college requires students to have taken the ACT to apply for admission and scholarships. ACT highly encourages students to register ONLINE at www.actstudent.org. Students receive their admission ticket and have the best choice of test centers by registering online. (Paper registration packets and practice booklets are still available in the Career Center, A117.) Our high school code number is #251-180.
