Web design is the designing and graphical presentation of content shown on the Internet in the form of Web sites and other Web applications using many different forms of media. The basic design of most pages on the Web use HTML, CSS, and the newest form of language, XHTML. Many sites today also integrate various forms of dynamic, interactive content.

Web Page Design I and II are offered at OGHS. Web Page Design I offers the student an opportunity to learn HTML and basic layout techniques for the web. Web Page Design II offers advanced web design principles that are consistent with today's professional web designers.

Desktop Publishing is using text and graphics to design and produce printed documents such as business cards, brochures, booklets, product packaging, posters, invitations, newsletters, and many other types of documents. In this class we will focus on all the steps involved including planning a publication, designing layouts, and then examining all the details that make up a great design piece.

At OGHS we began offering DTP a year ago and it has grown in popularity. Students really get to express themselves creatively and see immediate practicality in their everyday lives. DTP also provides awesome skills that can be used across the curriculum.
